Product Description

The Garmin GNC-355 takes the impressive GPS-175 WAAS IFR-Approach GPS / MFD / Moving Map and adds an excellent COMM Transceiver.

Streamlined Navigation with Integrated COMM Transceiver

Take your cockpit efficiency to the next level with the GNC-355, combining WAAS IFR GPS capabilities with a powerful 10-watt COMM transceiver, designed to meet the demands of both VFR and IFR pilots. The GNC-355's built-in radio capabilities gives you a single, compact solution for Navigation and Communication. (It's the next generation NAV/COMM.)

Built-In COMM Transceiver with 25 kHz Channel Spacing (GNC-355A required for 8.33 kHz Channel Spacing)

The GNC-355’s 10-watt COMM Transceiver supports standard 25 kHz channel spacing and. This enhanced Transceiver provides clarity and reliability, helping you stay connected in busy airspace. (Please note that the GNC-355A is needed for optional 8.33 kHz channel spacing. We have yet to see that radio on the used avionics market.)

Easy Frequency Selection with Proximity and Database Tuning

It is easy to find the right frequency with the GNC-355’s intelligent tuning. By tapping into the GPS database, the GNC-355 lets you quickly access key frequencies (airport, weather, center, FSS, etc.) without manual lookup. Proximity tuning further simplifies communication by automatically suggesting nearby frequencies, helping you stay on course and on frequency.

Standby Frequency Monitoring

Get crucial updates without missing important transmissions. Standby frequency monitoring allows you to listen to ATIS or other standby information while remaining tuned to your assigned ATC frequency. You may gather weather or airport information while staying fully connected with ATC, without toggling back and forth (and worrying about missing a call).

Automatic Frequency Identification

With automatic frequency identification, the GNC-355 ensures that you’re always communicating with the correct controller. Each selected frequency is identified and confirmed, giving you confidence in your communication throughout the flight.

Convenient size, flexible integration

Most older GPS Receivers are 2 inches tall, and the GNC-355 is designed to fit in the same space. The GNC-355 won't be a slide-in replacement, but it will allow a major upgrade without juggling the rest of the radios in your stack.

Designed with flexibility in mind, the GNC-355 integrates with many avionics you may already have installed, such as Indicators, Autopilots, MFDs, and Transponders. This makes upgrading your avionics suite easier and more cost-effective while improving the overall performance of your system.

WAAS GPS, including LPV precision approaches

The GNC-355 brings precision, performance, and convenience to your cockpit with its advanced WAAS-enabled GPS technology, providing ILS-like LPV approaches to thousands of runways worldwide. This allows you to perform precision landings at smaller airports that wouldn't normally have the infrastructure for traditional ILS systems. With WAAS LPV capabilities, pilots gain vertical guidance and a higher level of accuracy during approaches, greatly enhancing safety.

Bright touchscreen display, intuitive operation

The unit's bright 4.8" high-resolution touchscreen display provides a user-friendly interface that pilots will appreciate. Its pinch-and-zoom capabilities feel as intuitive as using a smartphone or tablet, allowing for quick access to important features such as maps, traffic, and terrain. Additionally, traditional knobs are available, making operation easy in turbulent conditions or if you prefer a tactile interface.

Garmin's signature moving map technology gives you detailed views of your flight plan, nearby airports, terrain, and procedures. With the GNC-355, you can view essential information like waypoints, reporting points, and navaids, as well as Smart Airspace, SafeTaxi diagrams, and terrain hazards—all designed to increase situational awareness and ensure safe flights.

Flight planning is simplified with intuitive touch controls, enabling pilots to modify flight legs on quickly and easily.

In VFR conditions, the GNC-355 offers an advisory Glideslope that accounts for terrain and obstacles, adding an extra layer of safety and consistency to every landing.

ADS-B compatible

If you have an ADS-B Out Transmitter installed which needs a connection to a WAAS GPS, the GNC-355 can provide a WAAS position fix.

The GNC-355 is also ADS-B In compatible.  It can display traffic and weather when connected to an ADS-B In Receiver, giving you a comprehensive overview of your airspace in real-time. For added convenience, Garmin’s Connext technology allows you to share data between the GNC-355 and compatible Garmin portable devices or mobile apps like Garmin Pilot or FltPlan Go. This feature lets you plan your flight in advance, then transfer the plan seamlessly to your GNC-355 once you're ready to fly.

The Garmin GNC-355 offers a significant upgrade in safety, precision, and ease of use for pilots seeking a reliable, feature-rich GPS system. Whether you’re navigating complex IFR conditions or cruising in VFR, this unit is designed to make every flight smoother, safer, and more efficient.

The GNC-355 is compatible with a range of Indicators, including some which may already be installed in your panel:

If you have a GPS or GPS/COMM to trade in, please contact us. Depending on the model and your GPS Receiver's condition, we may still have a market for it. If so, trading in your old GPS or GPS/COMM will help reduce the net cost for this GNC-355.
