VFR GPS

A VFR GPS is just as accurate as a (non-WAAS) IFR GPS.  The difference is that the VFR GPS lacks IFR Approval.  Also, the database typically does not contain IFR procedures, to save space. A VFR system may certainly be used when you are flying IFR, but it must be a secondary navigation system, for reference and redundancy.

It is much simpler to install a VFR GPS.  The installation can be as simple as connecting power, ground, and the GPS antenna cable.
