HSI

An HSI is the original moving map. It puts your course, heading, relationship to the airway, and glideslope all right in front of the pilot.

When choosing an HSI, consider your primary flight instruments. Are they driven by vacuum or electricity? You may wish to add an HSI driven by the opposite source, for better redundancy and improved partial-panel information. For example, the NSD-360A is vacuum, and the KCS-55A and SN-3308 EHSI are electric.
