This is the -01 version of the King KN-63 remote-mount DME Receiver / Transmitter. The -01 version includes a harmonic transmission filter, which is required in much of Europe. If you don't need the -01 version, you can save some money by ordering the standard (-00 version) KN-63. Both the -00 and -01 are TSO'd.

If you have limited panel space, but need a TSO'd, high-power DME, King's KN-63 is just what you need. The KN-63 is typically paired with the King KDI-572 DME Indicator, but it can also drive a KDI-573 "repeater" DME Indicator on the co-pilot's side of the cockpit. A KN-63 DME System will simultaneously show distance, groundspeed, and time-to-station.
