NAV

These Navigation Receivers are for VOR navigation, and to follow a Localizer on approach. Some of these radios also include a Glideslope Receiver.  If you know you need a NAV with Glideslope, please see our Glideslope subcategory.

If you also need a COMM Transceiver, you can either pair a dedicated COMM with one of these radios, or opt for a dual-function NAV/COMM. Both options have their advantages.

Separate NAV and COMM radios work independently. If you were to have a problem with one, you could continue to use the other while it was repaired. Plus, stand-alone COMM radios may have higher power output than the COMM section of a NAV/COMM.

On the downside, separate NAV and COMM radios will generally cost more to buy and install, and they may take more panel space as well.
